Derek Hale is born as the son of a shapeshifter-warlock family and a warlock family. Yet he hasn't the shapeshifter gen, but he became a pure-blood warlock by the dark magic his father managed. He grew up in a family with a mom, dad, two sisters - one older and one younger - his uncle, aunt and nephew.
On a day someone had set his home on fire, all his family in this house. He was at a friends house when this all happened. Derek got the news his friends mother.

While the firemen were trying to stop the fire, Derek headed to another place. He lived as far as the old world was from the new world. Only at the other side of Kaechan area.

He was just 12 years old when he lost his entire family to this damn fire.

The last 8 years he lived with a bunch of people around a city. Most of the time with other warlocks, teaching them how to use his magic, because he has an electricy magic mixed with a little light magic.
